End-to-End Processing: Complex Profile Brackets with Coating

Full-cycle CNC manufacturing of heavy-duty metal brackets with intricate spatial geometries: from precision laser cutting and sequential bending to industrial powder coating application.

Engineering Process & Technical Solutions:

The core challenge of this project was the batch production of multi-bend brackets while maintaining perfect alignment across all mounting holes. Working with structural steel required an exact calculation of the material stretch coefficient during CNC press brake operations, ensuring the finished parts matched mounting assembly tolerances perfectly without any manual adjustments.

  • 1. Flat Pattern Calculation & SolidWorks Design Based on the client's 3D models, our engineering team calculated precise flat patterns, factoring in punch and die corner radii. All mounting and manufacturing holes were integrated into the laser cutting layout with proper clearance allowances for the subsequent powder coating layer thickness.
  • 2. Precision Fiber Laser Sheet Cutting Blank cutting was executed using our advanced CNC fiber laser systems. Utilizing highly optimized nesting and cutting profiles ensured clean, dross-free edges and excellent geometric hole fidelity—critical for error-free indexing during the bending phase.
  • 3. Sequential Multi-Step CNC Bending The complex spatial profile of the bracket required several consecutive bends at various angles. By utilizing a multi-axis CNC press brake alongside specialized segmented tooling, we successfully formed all required curves and angles within a single operational cycle, preventing structural fatigue in high-stress zones.
  • 4. Chemical Pre-treatment & Powder Coating To protect the parts from corrosion under severe operational conditions, the brackets underwent a rigorous multi-stage prep cycle: degreasing, oxide film removal, and phosphating. Then, a highly durable polymer powder layer was applied in an automated spray booth, followed by curing in a polymerization oven at 180°C–200°C.
  • 5. Final QA Inspection & Hole Calibration After cooling down, every single component from the batch underwent rigorous quality control checks for coating thickness, adhesion, and overall spatial dimensions using dedicated go/no-go gauge fixtures. This ensures 100% repeatability and perfect fitment into end-product assemblies.
