Industrial Equipment Enclosure "ICEBOX"

Full-cycle serial fabrication of high-precision sheet metal enclosures for telecommunications, server nodes, and complex IT infrastructure hardware in Dnipro.

Engineering Workflow & Technical Solutions:

The core objective of this engineering project was to develop a heavy-duty, cassette-type industrial enclosure. It required maximum structural rigidity against intense vibration loads, perfect alignment of ventilation patterns, and absolute zero heat-induced welding deformation on the front interface panels.

  • 1. 3D MODELING & FLATTENING ANALYSIS IN SOLIDWORKS We performed a comprehensive engineering audit of the client's STEP models. Our team precisely calculated the bend allowance and K-factor corresponding directly to our CNC press brake tooling radii. This eliminated assembly tolerance errors and guaranteed a 100% match for all mounting arrays.
  • 2. PRECISION CNC FIBER LASER CUTTING High-speed nesting and cutting were executed on our fiber laser cutting complexes. The main load-bearing chassis, mounting rails, and ergonomic handles were cut from 2.0mm structural carbon steel. Front and rear ventilation panels were cut from 1.0mm steel, reducing overall structural weight by 35%. Laser positioning accuracy up to 0.05mm ensured ideal alignment for all hardware interface slots.
  • 3. MULTI-AXIS CNC HYDRAULIC PRESS BRAKE BENDING Complex folding geometries, structural stiffeners, and ventilation cassette walls were formed using multi-axis CNC hydraulic bending machines. Real-time angle control tracking down to ±0.5° allowed the execution of a tightly interlocking "slot-in-slot" design, forming a solid assembly without gaps.
  • 4. RIGID MECHANICAL RIVETING (WELDLESS ASSEMBLY) To completely safeguard against thermal warping and maintain flawless surface flatness across the front layout, traditional welding was replaced by high-strength mechanical fastening. Utilizing heavy-duty blind and blind-threaded rivets ensured an absolutely flat plane for all removable panels.
  • 5. ANTI-VANDAL INDUSTRIAL POWDER COATING A highly durable polymer protective layer (shagreen texture, custom RAL selected by the client) was applied on our automated conveyor line. Curing inside the oven loop at 180°C resulted in a finish resistant to impact, scratches, harsh chemicals, and industrial atmosphere corrosion.
  • 6. CO2 LASER-CUT PROTECTIVE CUSTOM FOAM INSERTS As a comprehensive turnkey solution, we utilized our CNC CO2 laser systems to perform precision cutting of internal heavy-density polyethylene (PE) foam protective inserts. These custom shock-absorbing liners ensure absolute isolation, tight retention, and secure transportation for sensitive internal electronics and hard drives.
